Ok, so my novel isn’t completely completed, but I got to 50,210 words this morning, so I officially did it! Yay me! So, my house is a wreck, I have um, shall we say, artful piles of various and sundry Christmas decorations, um, gracing our various living spaces, my children look like urchins, I haven’t started my Christmas cards, I haven’t made anything cute lately — ok, I usually don’t make cute things anyway — and all the toilets need a good scrubbing, but I got my novel well under way and far enough along to get this nifty little picture you see here, plus a winner’s certificate that I will frame and hang above my desk. Go ahead, call me simple.
Husband has offered to take me out to dinner to celebrate, but he and the kids have belt testing for martial arts tonight, so it would be all rushed. I think I’ll just have him pick up a pizza on the way home and then use the rest of the money we would have spent on dinner to make a donation to NaNoWrMo. They are trying to build libraries in Vietnam this year.
I haven’t spent nearly as much time exercising as I did writing and I gained a couple of pounds. I finally figured out that writing like this gives me the munchies. I guess I deal with the stress of writer’s block the way I deal with lots of stress: I turn to my good friend food. I need to get serious about getting my eating back on track. I hope to blog about that soon, and maybe get some people to join me in recommitting to a healthier lifestyle. Blah, enough about that for now.
I did it! Yay me!!!! And, I still have hair! Overall I’d say this has been a good month.
Well, except for the auto accident. Got a copy of the police report yesterday and talked to the other driver’s insurance company. Looks like they’re going to play real nice about the whole thing, so that’s good. Have to go get an estimate after nap time today or sometime tomorrow.
And George, if you’re out there Tewt the Newt says hello — in 50,210 words!
