Through the Ears of a Child

Through the Ears of a Child

It’s roughly 8:00 a.m. today and I am baking Christmas cookies.  The radio is softly playing Christmas music and I am only vaguely aware that the Rudolph song is playing.

“You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid . . . ”

Midge, the three-year-old, comes trailing behind me.

“Mom, mom!  Did you know Santa Clause has a reindeer named Stupid?!?!?”

No matter the difficulty we go through in getting them into our lives and the difficulty we go through with them in our lives, children are soooooo worth it.

And George, if you’re out there, Tewt the Newt says it’s beginning to smell a lot like Christmas.
